Kate’s Tidying Tips
A Simple, Sustainable Way to Keep Your Kitchen Cabinets Organized
At Home Love Method, we believe your kitchen should feel like a support system—not a stressor. If your cabinets are overflowing, mismatched, or just plain chaotic, take a deep breath. We’ve got a simple, sustainable tip to bring calm back to your cooking space.
Think Zones, Not Chaos
One of our favorite ways to bring order to kitchen cabinets is by creating zones. Group similar items together: baking supplies in one area, everyday dishes in another, snacks in their own section. Give each category its own dedicated “home” within your cabinets. This isn’t about creating a picture-perfect pantry—it’s about building ease into your daily rhythm.
When everything has a place, cooking becomes lighter and less frantic. You open a cabinet and know where things are. You clean up faster. And best of all, you stop re-buying things you already have (we see you, fourth bottle of paprika).
Use Small Tools with Big Impact
You don’t need a full reno or a designer pantry to make this work. A few affordable, functional tools can completely change how your cabinets function. We love:
• Clear bins for grouping small items
• Shelf risers to double vertical space
• Lazy Susans for oils, sauces, and spices
• Labels (yes, really!) to help everyone know what goes where
Labels aren’t just pretty—they’re practical. When everyone in the house knows where things belong, you’re not the only one putting them away.
Check In With Your Inventory
If you’re running out of room, take a moment to check in with what’s filling the space. Ask yourself: Do I use this? Do I love this? If not, it’s okay to let it go. Tidying your kitchen cabinets isn’t about deprivation—it’s about giving yourself room to breathe.
Your kitchen works hard for you every day. Let’s make sure it’s set up to support you back. An organized cabinet isn’t just a visual treat—it’s a quiet, daily act of care for your future self.
